Newberry Blueberries started up in the summer of 2010 and was a big hit in the local community of Sandy, Oregon with fresh and delicious blueberries. Over 800 pounds of freshly picked blueberries were harvested last year on our 40 acre property by our pickers and sellers, the core of which are high school students, college students, and family members that would like to spend the afternoon in the field.
With it hard for teenagers to currently find a job, we only hire teens: our pickers, baggers, sellers, and web and technology areas are all organized, run, and built by students. Even I, the owner, am only 18 and a college student. Newberry Blueberries has over 150 customers locally, and brings in only the freshest, best ready-to-eat blueberries this side of Mt. Hood.
We want to harvest over 1000 pounds this summer, which might sound like a lot of berries, but place an order ASAP! Last year we generated and sold over 800 lbs, and it took only word-of-mouth advertising and returning customers to finish off the patch. The half-ton of berries will not wait around, so place your order, because its first come first served.
